-It was a beautiful crisp May morning, 36 degrees, for our first workout in our new Broad Ripple AO and it was awesome to pull in and see so many guys from Carmel and Fishers coming out to support! I know this is a tough time to work out together and I didn’t want to have a huge group, so 13 worked out great!
-We had 6 guys post who live within 10 minutes of the AO, so we have great potential already for a solid foundation to build upon.
-Everyone seemed really excited to be together and to explore the new AO
-YHC got some grief multiple times for not starting “behind Panera” per my instructions. In my mind where we started was what I wanted, but I thought “behind Panera” made more sense verbally than “beside Panera”. Where we started I thought gave us the best visibility to the road as people pulled in.
-Huge thanks to Groupie who put a lot of time and thought in with me over the past couple of weeks to help get this thing off the ground! He is also the one who came up with the name The Pit!
-Huge thanks to Khaki for putting up with us as we constantly tweaked our promo material. Also for getting the website updated to include the new Broad Ripple AO.
-Why THE PIT: In the words of Groupie, the pit is “grit, grime, work and toughness”. As we are developing the logo, YHC thought we could have someone reaching out of a pit and another guy reaching down to help them out. Then the pit takes on a second meaning that we are not meant to do this alone. COVID has forced us to be alone or feel alone, but we have each other to help pull one another, and new men, out of the pit, out of the struggle, and to lend a hand (even if from a distance) right now 🙂 Welcome to THE PIT! Where we get stronger and where we help each other out, Iron Sharpens Iron!
-It has an absolute joy to be with you all this morning and lead again. Thanks for coming! -Keep accelerating! Keep EH’ing! Keep giving it away!
