Moleskin:

A couple PAX scratched at the last minute to keep the group short of the double digit goal. There’s always the next workout to get there. Mumblechatter seemed to die down a little more with each passing Maestro lap. It was conceded that this was likely more Maestro laps for Maestro than he has taken part in for the last year. Comment about high number of reps earned the group a set of 💯s then to take a break from counting a set of ABCs. Due to smoked arms Popeye early PB bring a lawn chair and a book on Wednesday.

A lot of fartsacking going on in BlackCat country this morning. Rumored that all were terrified by Wapner’s PB threat of farmer carries. 3 men didn’t allow excuses to creep in and instead overcame to get stronger. Hopefully there will be a better showing next week. Small group didn’t cut down on the mumblechatter plenty of discussion of important topics of the day. YHC rethinking the box jumps from the first one and they hurt every time around. Good all around workout and all agreed that we never regret getting out of the fartsack and getting some work in.

Good turnout even with the threat of rain – started dry but that didn’t last. Appropriate for Ghost to post for a Halloween workout. YHC tried to mix in some spooky exercises with the block work – more running than expected along with the blocks. Block party always good on the arms later. Rain came with about 10 minutes left and even shelter from a tree couldn’t keep Mary dry.

YHC jetlagged from delayed air travel yesterday, but had to answer the bell at 0530. Nice crisp morning to get the blood flowing and get moving. Not a fan of Purdue (understatement of the year), but had to respect and pay tribute to what they did to Ohio State this weekend. (One PAX commented you can’t spell spousal abuse without OSU…)  Plenty of reps to go around and sprints to pay back IM for the distance running on Wednesday. Went easy on the Captain Insane-O to get a second round of BOILERS in. Big week with the first (of many to come) happy hour on Wednesday at 6 at Pepe’s and Porkchop’s VQ on Friday!

Moleskin:

Piper came with tractor tires but an audible was called given weather conditions. Was agreed to be hardest rain in history of BlackCat. YHC took over Q with a return to the deck of cards. Started out with what had to be the fastest we’ve ever made it to the main shelter house. Continued deck of cards from where we left off last time. A tardy Cubby Blue managed to find the group driving around the park. Plenty of moaning about the number of diamonds left in the deck (ended up 137 different variations of merkins). Stayed mostly under cover but a few of the hearts gave an opportunity to go out into the rain and get plenty moist. Discovered that the waterproof cards did not come in a waterproof case. No excuses Monday – let’s see everyone out there for some fun with tires.

Nice to feel the fall temperatures with sleeves and tights coming out. Another strong showing with tenth PAX following in Maestro’s footsteps and arriving in the middle of the warmup lap. Anxiously awaited F3 workout deck came in the mail last week and did not disappoint. Groans from the group when number of reps revealed. Jay-Z elected to cut the cards so YHC can’t be held responsible for what was to come. Many good exercises and fortunately (or unfortunately) the burpee card came up. Another emergency 10-29 starting to look like routine rather than emergency. Last card kicked off right into Mary with 100 flutter kicks. Total of 21 cards pulled with 13 of them 9 or higher.

We didn’t have a workout on 9/11 so I thought we should mark the occasion this week and remember the events that shaped our nation. Borrowed heavily from Q of Cornwallis on 9/11 at The Hill. Traffic jam in the parking lot when YHC arrived is a good sign. 9 men including an FNG make the choice to get better today. PAX commented that disclaimer is getting more creative every time it’s given. Discussion of whether merkins are a good idea before block activities. Turns out answer is probably not. After back to back arm beat downs this week 12 oz. curls may be a little tricky this weekend. One PAX plans to use a straw. Mary highlighted by a new BlackCat Laney Lu record of 11.
